Traditional Thangka Art Workshop

15:00 - 17:00
Event By Maria Cherkasova
500 THB (600 THB with sauna after class)

I invite you to explore the traditional Tibetan Art of Thangka painting. We will learn to draw Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the Tibetan style, following canonical proportions. In the first session, we will draw the Face of Buddha using traditional techniques. For experienced students who have attended previous classes, we will go deeper, constructing the full body of Buddha, Tara, Mahakala, and other deities.
After the class, there will be an opportunity to relax in the sauna and enjoy the warmth.

🌀 You will learn about the tradition of Thangka art, its history, styles, and the philosophy of Tibetan Buddhism associated with it.
🌀 You will study the traditional Tibetan method of drawing, focusing on the principles and canons of deity representation.
🌀 In the first session, you will draw the head of the Buddha according to canonical proportions.

The workshop will be facilitated by an artist who has spent the last three years studying this art under the guidance of Tibetan master Tenzin Rabgyal in Dharamsala, in the Himalayas.

The class is suitable for beginners with no prior drawing experience.
