Under the Black Flag: Pirate Night at the Tiki Torch

For International Talk Like A Pirate Day, the black flag rises over Tiki Torch in collaboration with Tradewinds History Market & Renaissance Faire, Chiang Mai Historical Fencing, and the Living History Fellowship. The Itinerants will rouse the night with sea shanties, folk tunes, and rough songs of the coast, while historical fencers bring sword duels to life in the torchlight. Between the noise and the smoke come short tales in “Things You Didn’t Know About Pirates,” revealing strange truths of life at sea. Members of the host groups will appear in historically accurate costume, and guests are encouraged to dust off their pirate gear. A free shot of rum punch awaits those in costume, with prizes for the boldest in the contest.
