Activity Types on Todo.Today
Todo.Today helps people discover real-life experiences happening in their local community.
We focus on activities that people can attend, participate in, experience, or enjoy in person.
As Todo.Today continues to grow, we now support four activity types: Events, Classes & Workshops, Daily Activities, and Retreats.
Each activity type serves a different purpose and helps creators, facilitators, and venues present their offerings in the most appropriate way.
Event
Events are shared experiences that bring people together at a specific time.
Examples include social gatherings, performances, concerts, community events, discussions, celebrations, and meetups.
Example
Community Dinner at 7:00 PM
People gather at a specific time to share an experience together.
Class / Workshop
Classes and Workshops are guided experiences led by a facilitator, teacher, coach, practitioner, performer, or host.
Participants attend to learn, practice, train, explore, or be guided through an experience.
Example
Breathwork & Ice Bath with Sarah at 5:00 PM
Participants join a scheduled session and are guided through the experience by a facilitator.
Daily Activities
Daily Activities are experiences, venue offerings, and recurring happenings that people can enjoy on their own schedule.
Unlike Events and Classes, participants do not need to arrive at a specific time, join a group session, or be guided by a facilitator.
Daily Activities are designed for things people can do, even when there is no scheduled event taking place.
Example
Sauna & Ice Bath Available Daily from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Visitors can come whenever they choose during operating hours and enjoy the experience at their own pace.
Another example could be a venue offering Taco Tuesday throughout the evening. Visitors can come whenever they like rather than joining a scheduled group experience.
Retreats
Retreats are structured multi-day experiences that take place over several days or weeks.
Unlike Events and Classes, retreats are complete programs designed around a longer journey, curriculum, training, or immersive experience.
Example
7-Day Yoga & Wellness Retreat
Participants join a multi-day program with a structured schedule, workshops, activities, and a guided journey over several days.
What Doesn’t Belong on Todo.Today?
We do not accept online events, virtual experiences, private one-on-one sessions, or activities without enough information for people to understand what is happening.
If someone cannot clearly understand what is happening, where it is happening, and when it is happening, it probably does not belong on Todo.Today.
How Activities Are Displayed
Events and Classes remain the core of Todo.Today and may appear throughout the platform, including local channels, event feeds, and daily digests.
Daily Activities and Retreats are displayed differently.
These activity types were introduced alongside Creator Channels and Venue Channels, allowing creators and venues to showcase more than just individual events.
Daily Activities and Retreats may appear on Creator Channels, Venue Channels, and in dedicated discovery sections across Todo.Today.
They are not currently included in the main daily event digest.
Why We Added Daily Activities and Retreats
Todo.Today started by helping people discover events happening today.
As the platform evolved, creators and venues wanted a way to showcase more of what they offer.
Many venues provide ongoing experiences that are not traditional events. Likewise, many organizers run retreats and multi-day programs that do not fit into a standard event listing.
Adding Daily Activities and Retreats allows creators and venues to present their full offering while keeping the main event feed focused on scheduled experiences that bring people together.
