Community Channels on Todo.Today
A Community Channel is a shared home for a local community — like “Phangan Yoga Collective” or “Canggu Sound Healers.” Instead of representing one creator, it brings together the events of a whole group in one place.
How it’s different from a Creator Channel
Your Creator Channel is your personal space. A Community Channel is curated on behalf of a community: you can invite other creators as contributors, and set rules that automatically gather the right events onto the page.
Applying for a Community Channel
Go to your account settings profile and find the Community Channels section, then tap “+ New” to open the Apply for a Community Channel form. Fill in:
- Community Name
- Local Channel — defaults to your current location; change it if needed
- Why do you want to manage this community?
- Existing community / WhatsApp group / social links (optional)
Submit, and our team reviews it. You can only have one application under review at a time.
While you wait for approval
You can preview and start setting up your channel using the “View & Customize” button — edit the name, bio, social links, custom URL, and cover image. Only you can see it for now. Contributors and Rules unlock once your channel is approved.
When you’re approved
Your channel goes live at its own public page, todo.today/community/your-slug, with your cover, bio, social links, a share flyer, and its events list. You’ll get an email letting you know.
If it’s not approved
You’ll get an email with the outcome. A rejected channel page simply isn’t available. You’re welcome to reach out if you have questions.
Inviting contributors
On your live channel, tap the edit (pencil) icon → Manage Channel → Settings tab → Contributors → Invite. Search for a creator by name and invite them. They’ll get an email and can accept or decline from the Community Channels section of their own account. You can remove a contributor anytime.
Setting up auto-display rules
Rules decide which events show on your channel. Open Manage Channel → Settings → Rules → “+ Rule.”
- If you set no rules, the channel shows all upcoming events from you and your contributors.
- To narrow it down, build rule groups. Within a group, conditions combine with AND; separate groups combine with OR (up to 5 groups).
- Conditions you can use: Category (pick one), Tags (up to 5), Creator (you or a contributor), and Venue/Place or Area (one or the other).
- Your channel only ever shows events from your team (you + contributors) — a stranger’s event can never appear.
Sharing your community
Your Community Channel is made to be shared — drop the link in WhatsApp groups, Instagram, Telegram, or your bio. It becomes the central home for everything your community is doing. 🙌
