How We Curate the Daily Digest (WhatsApp & Telegram)
Todo.Today started as a simple daily WhatsApp message I personally shared in Koh Phangan to help people discover the best things happening around them.
Today, the platform connects thousands of people across multiple locations, but the daily WhatsApp and Telegram digests still follow the same idea:
A simple, curated daily ritual.
Every morning, I personally select and share a limited list of highlights for each location: events, workshops, music, wellness, gatherings, community experiences, nightlife, sunsets, and more.
The digest is intentionally kept concise, diverse, and easy to read.
Why not every approved event appears in the digest
There are usually far more approved events than what can realistically fit into a single WhatsApp or Telegram message.
Most daily digests include around 15-25 selected events.
The goal is not to include everything, but to create a balanced, useful, and interesting daily selection for the community.
The website and app contain many more events beyond the daily highlights.
What isn’t in the digest at all
Some things never appear in the digest, no matter how good they are. This isn’t a judgment on quality, it’s what the message is for.
- Daily Specials and Retreats. The digest is for hosted events happening on that specific day. Daily Specials and Retreats have their own sections on the main daily feed.
- 1:1 sessions. These live on your channel only.
- Events starting before 08:30. The digest goes out around 07:30 and people need lead time to get somewhere. Early events still appear on the website and app.
The digest is personally curated
The WhatsApp and Telegram digests are not automatic feeds.
Every night, I personally review the upcoming events and select the highlights for the next morning.
I try to create a healthy balance between different facilitators, venues, categories, event styles, price ranges, and community interests.
For example, I usually avoid featuring too many events from the same venue on the same day. I also try not to repeat the same facilitators too often, so the digest stays varied and fair.
I also look at the shape of the whole day, spreading the selection from morning through to night rather than stacking everything into one part of the day.
What increases the chances of being included
There is no guaranteed inclusion, but several factors can help.
1. Clear and high-quality event submissions
Events with clear titles, good descriptions, complete information, proper formatting, and strong images are much easier to feature.
The easier it is for people to understand what the event is, who it’s for, and what to expect, the stronger the event usually performs.
2. Creator Channels and followers
Todo.Today now includes Creator Channels.
When facilitators enable their Creator Channel, explorers can follow them, see all their upcoming events, save events, and build personal feeds around the creators they care about.
This also helps me understand community interest.
If many people follow a creator, it signals that people genuinely care about their events and want to see more from them.
3. Event saves
When explorers save an event on Todo.Today, it is another strong signal of interest.
This is one reason why submitting events early matters.
Events submitted in advance have more time to be discovered, get saves, build interest, and gain momentum.
Last-minute submissions generally have lower chances of being included in the digest.
4. Community-driven submissions
Todo.Today is a community-driven platform.
I usually prioritize events submitted directly by facilitators, organizers, and creators, rather than events copied from external sources or generic venue calendars.
If a venue is organizing its own event, that is different, but in general I prefer direct creator involvement.
5. Sharing and supporting the platform
I also appreciate creators who actively support and share Todo.Today.
When facilitators share their Todo.Today links, post their Creator Channel, bring people into the platform, or encourage followers to save events, it helps grow the community around local life.
This is also a positive signal that the creator is part of the Todo.Today ecosystem.
Even if your event is not in the digest, it is still live
If your event is approved, it is still visible on Todo.Today.
People can discover it through the website, Creator Channels, follows, saves, personalized feeds, direct links, and upcoming event browsing.
Many explorers already use Todo.Today directly to plan ahead beyond the WhatsApp and Telegram highlights.
The goal stays the same
The purpose of the daily digest is not to show everything.
It is to create a high-quality daily selection, a useful experience, a trusted community ritual, and a simple way to discover local life.
