DOjO Contact Class with Sima: Catch the Moment.

A technical class exploring weight, gravity, and the moment of flight.

The same body can have a different weight depending on the circumstances. We will explore how to recognize the best moment for flight: when the weight shifts and creates the inertia for takeoff, and when the weight is moving down into the floor.

We will learn how to analyze the movement of weight and catch that unique moment when flying with gravity becomes effortless, light, and playful.

At the same time, we will practice going into the floor: yielding, relaxing, and giving in to gravity when the moment has been missed and the body has become heavy.

The work will be explored through solo, duet, and trio practices.
